SciHive

Writers & Editorial Standards

Quality science journalism starts with rigorous editorial standards. This page documents how we research, write, fact-check, and publish every article — and introduces the people behind the bylines.

Editorial standards

Every SciHive article must cite at least one primary source — a peer-reviewed paper, official dataset, press release from a research institution, or on-the-record expert quote. Writers must distinguish clearly between established findings and speculation, use precise language when describing study results, and avoid sensationalized headlines that overstate conclusions.

Fact-checking process

Before publication, every article goes through a verification pipeline: claims are cross-referenced against the cited sources, statistics are checked for accuracy, and quotes are verified. If a source is unavailable for verification, we disclose that limitation in the article.

AI-assisted reporting disclosure

SciHive uses AI tools as part of our research and drafting pipeline. All AI-generated drafts are reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by human editors before publication. AI is a tool in our process — not a replacement for editorial judgment. We believe in full transparency about this practice.
